spoiler alert.
——————-
Okay, so two episodes ago, Jane lost his memories. My roommate and I totally forgot about that for a while. Now he’s back like his normal self. And Christina Frye. And Red John. Why are they always put off until we forget about them? Then they randomly jump in a random episode.
Seriously. Jane’s memories. What?

THE MENTALIST
CBS | Thursday | 10:00 p.m.
Basically I decided last night that The Mentalist has gone full-on fantasy land on us. It’s always been on the border, right? It’s always been a game of Patrick Jane doing whatever he wants, whilst the rest of the CBI team try to a) reign him in and b) do their, uh, jobs. But after last night’s season premiere, in which Jane deceptively coerced a jury into declaring him “not guilty” of ALL charges related to the death of the dude we were lead to believe was Red John, well………. I just………. I don’t know, guys.
It turned out that Red John wasn’t Red John. He was just a dude, with a wife and a family. Except he wasn’t. He was actually all kinds of effed up. He and his wife were keeping a dungeon in their basement and had a young girl held captive down there. Jane broke into their house (obviously) and turned the tables on the widow at about the exact second she was about to go nuts on the girl. Good job?
After watching last night’s premiere of Person of Interest, during which I wasn’t really sure where my moral compass was supposed to point (more on that later), this premiere from The Mentalist felt a little unsettling. Have we come to the point where Jane is just allowed to do WHATEVER he wants in the name of vengeance? More importantly, have we come to the point where his normally-straight crew is going along with every single thing that pops into his head? LISTEN, I’m a fan of the show, I love Patrick Jane and I watch every week to see his wacky ways. DON’T GET ME WRONG. But I’m not sure how I feel about the over-the-top revenge methods. I’m not sure how I feel about people fully admitting to murdering someone innocent of the crime they killed them for, and then headin’ back out to (maybe) do it again.
Final thought: Help me out, readers, where’s YOUR moral compass point on this one?
^ completely agree. But I just wanted to say… I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT! :)
^ YES YES YES.
I’m so desperately hoping it was just another one of RJ’s “men”
I never thought of it that way. Would be exciting if she, herself, was Red John. Omg… I hope so!
I was immensely disappointed.
But then again, the “Red John” Jane had killed might be another one of RJ’s man. There’s still hope! :D
Just watched the season finale. I had no idea who some of the characters were because I went from season two, episode 18 to the season three, finale. But anyway, the first few minutes were pretty interesting. It was hard to hear because my suitemates were talking in the lounge and it echoes (boo).
Red John was revealed and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. Liked the ending, but Red John… was disappointing. I don’t want to say much and spoil it.
It was a two hour season finale but it felt like only one hour.
Anyway, for those who know which show I’m talking about and has seen the finale, what was your thought on it (try your best not to spoil anything)?
Meh, time to finish up my short story for tomorrow.
Title of the episode was clever
Dawww, Cho smiled. Kicked ass too. And OMGGGG, two hour season finale next week. Red John revealed?! Too bad I can’t watch it since I have two seasons to catch up on.
